Welcome to the Poplar Plantation Project!
Started in 1995
On Thursday May 8th, 2003, Forestry experts shared their lexicon of knowledge with the teens and youth of the Okanagan Valley. Students were granted the experience to learn what happens in the planting and maintaining process of the poplar plantation. This plantation is extremely important because it has been run by students ever since the first tree was planted. It also uses organic fertilizer that is extracted from our sewage systems.
This website will take you through the exact steps that those individuals went through to learn more about forestry. We will take you step by step into the Poplar Plantation during National Forest Week 2003, in which students learned more about the leading factor in the Okanagan's economy.
